Ganoderma lucidum or tsugae?

Last year I found this as it was emerging from the ground.  All I remember is that it was colorful and was at an end of a stick.  When I touched it, it felt hard.  Last year it appeared in October.  I will be checking it this year and take a picture if it fruits again.

The height of that cap is about 3".
Any idea which it is??
