Noah thinks this might be "Panus conchatus but now is called Lentinus torulosus".  About 2.5" cap.  Growing on an oak stump.

Baby version with about 1" cap.

Morning sun shinning through it.

Mushroom Expert gives the spores as 5-7 x 2.5-3.5 µm; elliptical; smooth.  This looks pretty much what I saw.  These small spores are at the limit of my scope to handle.
