The first bolete was Xanthoconium
purpureum, as last year. In fact there were 14 of them in a 6 by 6 foot
area. About half were saved for me, by the worms. There is a mature
one.

I noticed a characteristic that is in many of them. The stem narrows to a
point, at the end, and also had a bend.
