Polypore on Pitch Pine

About 5 " wide. First impression was
that it had an all white top. Growing at ground level.

It was hard like the Artist's Conch but had a soft outer layer that bruised
yellow.
The inner flesh was tough and brown in
color. The pores were brownish.

Shown here the underside and the spot where it grew on the tree.
Here is what the top looked like next day.

Close up of the pores. Even the next
day, it bruised yellow where touched. Eventually the bruise turned brown.
Note yellow stain on bottom of picture. Stained almost instantly.
