Meadow Mushroom?

Stem tapered to the bottom.  Could not see a ring but the mushrooms were rather old.  They looked like the cap was laying on the top of the grass.  The largest cap was about 3".  The stem was about 3/8" thick.

It is still about 6" wide but now sticks out about 3" from the stump.
