This was a Bicolor day.
The two most common species we found today
were Boletus bicolor and Xanthoconium separans. Both choice mushrooms.
Here is Lucy holding a Xanthoconium separans which she saw for the first time in
her life:

Below is her basket:

She could not pass up any Russula that was in edible condition :o)
Here is my second basket:

I could not pass up Lactarius volemus. She considered them only fit for
pickling.
I gave most of mine to her. That is a
sneaky way of getting out of work :o)
She is going to Lexington and then to visit with relatives on Cape Cod, this
weekend. Last I saw her she was slaving over a hot stove preparing the
mushrooms for her relatives.
It was a good day.
