ID Wanted!

Two large bolete growing side by side in oak woods right next to the trail:
Bill Yule says it definitely is not badiceps.  It looks like Tylopilus
williamsii, to him, but that grows further south.  Bill Neill thinks that it might be T. rubrobrunneus.



The larger had a 7" cap (largest dimension), the stalk was 6" high and 2" thick at the thickest point.  The cap was 1.5" at the thickest point.  The smaller mushroom had a 4.5" diameter cap.

The pores turned brown where they had been touched earlier.

Next day I found another specimen at a different location.  It is younger and gave a spore print similar to the stains on the pore area.
