The outer skin easily slipped off.

Here is the appearance of the inner skin, which is a dimpled white.

Clive and Bill N made it a stinkhorn egg.  Bill Neill makes it Ravenel's Stinkhorn, Phallus ravenelii.  We are getting a lot of rain.  The remaining egg has a good chance to hatch.  On 6/13 I went back and found 5 stinkhorns up.  Go here for the final word.
