October 30. Revisited the Agaric patch. Neither the 28 degrees the night before or the grass mower killed them yet. Again they have not grown much because of the cold weather. It got up to 62 today and is supposed to be in the 60's the next two days. Maybe they will have a chance to grow up.
Used the Canon S2 IS today, to get a feel
for it.
Here is a section view of the mystery Agaric.

Shows that there is a hollow center in the stalk plus that the gills are free.
Close-up of the gills that are now dry.
Look like they are tightly packed. This is in Super Macro on the Canon.

of where the stalk used to be.
This garter snake, about 18" long, was also
enjoying the sun and the warmer weather. I used the 12x optical zoom on
him so that he did not get nervous and run away.
