At first glance it looked like Cinnabar-red
Chanterelle aka Cantharellus cinnabarinus. But then the color appeared
more orange than red. Also it is way too large according to Lincoff's
guide. According to the guide the cap should be no larger than 1.6" but
this was 3"!!!
Bill Russell confirms that it is Red Chanterelle. The spore print and
spore shape and size confirms his confirmation. See below.

Spore print color was kind of whitish in
color but can be interpreted as "pinkish cream" as Lincoff describes. The spore
was 7.7 x 4.8 microns in size.
