Mushroom of Grafton MA
7/10/08

There were 4 growing in a group.  Two were actually connected at the base.  Caps were about 4".  What struck me as different was the stout stem of about 1.5".  They were growing in an open area near a mixed woods area.  No bitter taste, sweet.  Flesh white and not staining when cut.

Side.  Brown stem with white areas at top and bottom.  Smooth, no reticulation.  These were fused at base of stem.  Pores were white and stained brown when handled.

Pores

Spore print pinkish brown.  Spore measured 10.6 x 3.84 microns.
