Oxford MA Mushrooms
6/30/08
On the last foray that I went on with BMC I
remember George Riner photographing a similar bunch of mushrooms. I asked
him if they were something unusual. He said something like: "No, but they
are pretty." George identified them as Xeromphalina campanella.
Growing on a rotten stump. A quarters of an inch and smaller.
A good name for this scaber stalk would be
Pink Bolete. George provided the scientific name for this one.
Tylopilus chromapes
Side view of cap. 2.5" diameter
Pink pores and stem.
